I'm A Twit

In an earlier post, I posed the following profound, philosophical question: What do you call someone who Twitters?

Although I didn’t actually come out and say “I will never, ever use Twitter in a million years,” I’m sure that, to some, I implied it.

Well, a million years is up. I’m on Twitter @ rshevlin.

Have to say that their choice of the term “followers” seems inappropriate. (Sorta like how Facebook uses the term “friends.” Yeah right, friends.) Anyway, if you’re on Twitter, let me know — I’ll follow you.

  1. IIRC, they used to use “friends” in conjunction with some term that was supposed to indicate a looser affiliation with the person. Followers is an improvement, so help me.

And yes, I too would like to hear your conversion story.

  2. Truth be told, it’s Matt Dean from Trabian who brought the Twit out in me. He said something like “you know, everybody that was at the conference last week is on Twitter. You should try it.”

So I’ve just spent the past two days Tweeting. Or whatever you call it.

And I guess I have to admit it hasn’t been as distracting as I thought it would be.

If you’re on it, Elaine, let me know what your username is.
